About the position

The Jr. Hardware Engineer position at Nokia involves participating in the development of cellular base stations within the RAN Business Unit. The role focuses on designing, simulating, testing, and documenting RF circuits as part of a larger TRX design team. The position offers opportunities for growth into more responsible roles as competencies and experience increase, while contributing to innovative 5G technology solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Design, simulate, test, and document RF circuits as part of a larger TRX design team.
  • Work on design responsibilities in areas such as PWB, Power supplies, Transmitters, Receivers, Power Amplifiers, RF Synthesizers, or Antennas.
  • Develop signal processing algorithms and Digital PreDistortion.
  • Define hardware requirements based on system performance and reliability specifications.
  • Participate in design reviews and technical information exchange sessions.
  • Support related project RF design activities and collaborate with subcontractors for product development.
  • Assist other design engineers and specialists in design work.

Requirements

  • MS in Electrical Engineering or Physics with coursework in RF or Microwave technology preferred, or BSEE with 2 years of applicable internship experience.
  • Knowledge in RF Circuit Design and Signal processing techniques from applicable coursework or job experience.
  • Good theoretical and practical understanding of basic RF Engineering principles, including digital modulation and demodulation.
  • Basic understanding of RF performance specifications and test methodology.
  • Experience with common RF simulation and electromagnetic simulation tools (HP ADS, CST, HFSS) is a plus.
  • Experience with analytical simulation/analysis tools such as Matlab and Python is helpful.
  • Positive attitude and experience working in a team environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Technical leadership potential is a plus.
