About the position

The Jr. IT Technician will provide technical support to end users, handling requests via phone and IT ticketing systems. This role involves diagnosing issues, performing hardware and software support, and maintaining communication with users to ensure timely resolution of technical problems. The technician will also assist in creating documentation and reports for IT management.

Responsibilities

  • Answer technical phone lines and log requests from end users.
  • Perform initial diagnosis of issues and escalate when necessary.
  • Provide intermediate remote and desk-side hardware and software support.
  • Maintain communication within the IT ticketing system.
  • Document and actively resolve end-user help requests.
  • Troubleshoot and support telephones, mobile devices, and POS systems.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining SOPs and knowledgebase contributions.
  • Inform IT management of problem trends and provide status reports.
  • Install hardware, software, operating systems, and business applications.
  • Set up PCs from images and troubleshoot software and environment concerns.
  • Maintain confidentiality and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in written and verbal English communication.
  • Intermediate experience supporting PCs, peripherals, software, and hardware.
  • Effective communication skills and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • 1 year of help desk experience with knowledge of Windows environments.

Nice-to-haves

  • Background in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Network+ or A+ certification preferred.
