About the position
The Jr. Lab Technician - Metallography position at Howmet Aerospace involves working in the Research and Development Operation, focusing on the preparation and examination of metallographic specimens. This role is essential for ensuring quality and compliance in aerospace and defense applications, contributing to the company's mission of advancing fuel-efficient and sustainable technologies.
Responsibilities
- Prepare samples of metallographic specimens.
- Examine the prepared mounts for Customer Monthly Audits, Customer Process Approvals, and Anomaly Characterization.
- Write reports of metallographic characterization.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of two years of work experience; or 6 months continuous manufacturing experience.
- Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Nice-to-haves
- 1+ years of lab experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent analytical skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work in a self-directed or team environment
- Strong organizational skills
- Must have a desire to learn and collaborate in a manufacturing environment.
