About the position

The Jr. Mortgage Loan Officer is an entry-level mortgage sales role focused on proactively soliciting new residential mortgage business through qualified inbound calls. The position involves developing and maintaining relationships to generate new mortgage loan business in both purchase and refinance markets while meeting established loan quality and production goals.

Responsibilities

  • Build rapport and leverage customer relationships with existing and potential borrowers to meet customer needs and exceed expectations.
  • Analyze customers' financial situations and advise on appropriate loan products.
  • Perform lock extensions, pipeline management, and appraisal orders among other daily duties.
  • Excel in a fast-paced environment, multitasking and following up with multiple customers and files daily.
  • Accept multiple live, qualified inbound leads daily.
  • Lock loans at point of sale, request initial documents from customers, and submit an initial, paperless loan package to production staff.
  • Collect and analyze customer documentation for submission to underwriters for pre-qualification of purchase clients.
  • Structure and price loans accurately.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Current product knowledge of FHA, VA, Conventional, and other loan programs.
  • Experience working as a loan officer or supporting a loan officer.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of federal and state guidelines, rules, and regulations such as TRID.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Current working knowledge of mortgage sales or processing experience.
  • 0-1 years' experience as a Loan Processor, Jr. Processor, Loan Setup Clerk, Loan Officer Assistant, Sales, or equivalent.
  • Proficient with Encompass or other paperless mortgage loan origination systems.
  • NMLS License Required; must be licensed in at least one state.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
