About the position

The Jr Loan Officer position at Security State Bank & Trust involves building and maintaining loan portfolios while ensuring compliance with bank policies. The role requires processing and servicing loans for both existing and prospective customers, as well as performing loan servicing responsibilities and monitoring loan conditions.

Responsibilities

• Promote and emulate SSB&T Core Values
• Provide excellent customer service in the Bank, on the phone or via email
• Call on prospective applications
• Accept credit applications
• Evaluate a potential borrower's loan application, financial capacity, and credit worthiness
• Approve/deny a loan request within lending limit
• Prepare/present loans to Loan Committee if loan amount exceeds set lending limit
• Communicate professionally and effectively between all departments/branches of the Bank
• Monitor the funding of an approved loan
• Ensure closing of loans with customers
• Maintain responsibility for loan files and manage a portfolio of diverse loans; both consumers and commercial
• Attend offsite meetings and trainings; complete web-based training as scheduled by Training Department
• Coordinate collection efforts and disposition of collateral if needed
• Inspect secured collateral
• Assist branch opening/closing, balancing
• Review documentation for accuracy and collateral
• Collect needed documents to process loans
• Review and close loans
• Provide customer service from application of loan through loan payoff
• Prepare and file UCC's
• Prepare, monitor and scan loan documents
• Prepare loan packages for Loan Committee meetings
• Run Daily and End of Month reports
• Work interim construction loan draw documentation

Requirements

• Experience in banking preferred
• Experience in MS Office
• Formal credit training is preferred
• BBA preferred or business/banking experience
• 6+ hours Accounting coursework preferred
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Ability to perform intermediate financial analysis under limited supervision
