About the position

The Jr. Paralegal position at a leading regional law firm in Denver involves providing both billable and non-billable support to attorneys and paralegals in the Insurance Defense/Litigation Group. This role is ideal for individuals looking to advance their careers in the legal field, requiring strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct billable and administrative support to attorneys and paralegals.
  • Maintain accurate filing and organizational systems for both paper and electronic files.
  • Assist with database updates and data management.
  • Prepare legal documents including discovery requests, deposition notices, subpoenas, motions, and other pleadings.
  • Assist with e-discovery, including review and identification of responsive documents.
  • Communicate effectively with courts, clients, and opposing counsel.
  • E-file court documents and prepare correspondence.
  • Manage busy calendars and prioritize meeting requests.
  • Interface with clients and outside entities regarding assigned matters.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a paralegal role within a legal environment.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat and Banner Ads.
  • Familiarity with Case Management Software and Legal software.
  • Experience with LexisNexis is essential.
  • Ability to handle Billing Functions efficiently.
  • Experience in Briefing and Calendar Management.
  • Knowledge of Claim Administration process.
  • Excellent Communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Able to multitask and prioritize workload effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • A degree in Law or related field would be advantageous.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • A Paralegal certificate or undergraduate degree preferred.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills required, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
