About the position

The Jr Photographer/Videographer role at Design Group Americas involves capturing high-quality product images for eCommerce and social media platforms. The position supports the photography and videography teams in various capacities, including assisting with shoots, maintaining equipment, and ensuring adherence to established image specifications. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals looking to gain experience in a professional photo studio environment while collaborating with creative teams.

Responsibilities

  • Photograph products for eCommerce use, including websites and social media platforms.
  • Maintain established image specifications and standards for accuracy and consistency.
  • Assist photographers with product shoots as needed.
  • Assist the videographer on set, including sound and lighting checks.
  • Maintain and organize equipment.
  • Assist in lighting setup and breakdown.
  • Follow creative briefs and guidance provided by the Director of Photography, Art Directors, Photographers, and Videographers.
  • Support the Digital Imager in pre-production, production, and post workflows as requested.
  • Collaborate with the photography team and other support teams to meet daily shooting demands.
  • Use Adobe Creative Suite including Lightroom, Photoshop, Bridge, After Effects, and Premiere Pro, as well as Capture One software.
  • Support the Digital Imager and other team members with uploading images to digital asset management systems.
  • Assist with unpacking, checking-in, and processing incoming products and props.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of experience in a photo studio environment, preferably in a commercial setting.
  • Bachelor's degree in photography, filmmaking, or video production, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledgeable in all aspects of digital photography, strobe lighting, cinematography, and photo & video editing.
  • Working knowledge of adding type, transitions, music, lower thirds, voice over, and other editing techniques.
  • Knowledge of Canon SLR cameras, lighting, and studio equipment.
  • Demonstrates great time management skills and good communication abilities.
  • Ability to accept feedback and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
