About the position

The Jr. Programmer/Business Intelligence Developer at CPN Health Services is responsible for creating analytics content for end users and third parties requiring Epic data. This role involves collaborating with team members to design, build, and maintain applications, while ensuring quality control and support for these applications. The position requires a focus on maintainability and security, as well as the ability to interpret user issues and requests to develop viable solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with team members to design, build, and maintain applications
  • Research new technologies as needed
  • Provide quality control and support for applications
  • Develop with maintainability and security in mind
  • Follow coding best standards and practices
  • Keep manager informed of progress
  • Interpret user issues and requests to create viable solutions
  • Expand on current programming skills and knowledge of IT concerns such as networking and hardware installation
  • Respond quickly and efficiently to outages and software-related security issues
  • Configure and test Epic-released and Foundation System content for applications
  • Create content to display Epic data from Chronicles, Clarity, and Caboodle
  • Write SQL and configure Radar settings for custom SQL metrics
  • Modify existing reports as necessary
  • Distribute analytics content to data consumers
  • Review peer reports for validity
  • Work with subject matter experts to understand the needs of data consumers
  • Maintain the Analytics Catalog and associated metadata records
  • Test analytics build in a specified testing environment and volume testing in live environments
  • Review upgrade documentation related to Cogito features and determine how to implement changes
  • Build and maintain cubes, extracts, SlicerDicer custom filters, third-party BI tools, and Epic data in Caboodle
  • Write code, debug, test, and troubleshoot software issues
  • Provide support and training to users as needed
  • Write documentation
  • Perform all other duties and projects as required by Administration and Management

Requirements

  • Experience or work towards a degree in computer science or related field
  • Proficiency with SQL and relational database concepts
  • Strong communication skills
  • Critical thinking and an analytical mind
  • Ability to gain an in-depth understanding of the data model through data model classes geared toward content areas
