About the position

Ferrero North America is excited to announce the launch of its Industrial Graduate Program (IGP), designed to accelerate the careers of top new graduate talent into future leaders within Ferrero's food manufacturing sector. This comprehensive 3-year program will immerse participants in a hands-on learning experience, combining mentorship, technical on-the-job training, and a supplementary curriculum aimed at professional development. The IGP embodies Ferrero's 'Learning by Doing' philosophy, providing a unique opportunity to engage with the industrial environment, learn the Ferrero Way, and explore various career paths within manufacturing. The first two years of the program will take place at the home location, allowing participants to gain foundational knowledge and skills. The final year will involve a rotation to a different plant within Ferrero North America, broadening the participant's experience and understanding of the company's operations. This program is not just about learning; it is about preparing for a successful career with Ferrero, where participants will be equipped with the tools and knowledge necessary to thrive in the industry. As part of this initiative, Ferrero's Augusta bakery, known for iconic brands such as Keebler Famous Amos and Murray Sugar Free, is seeking a Junior Project Engineer. In this role, the Junior Project Engineer will collaborate closely with the Engineering team to support the execution of investment projects from concept through design, execution, commissioning, and start-up. Responsibilities will include supporting plant scheduling, ensuring safety standards, managing budgets, and maintaining quality control throughout the project lifecycle. This position is set to commence in September 2024.

Responsibilities

  • Develop simple drawings and sketches using AutoCAD 2D - 3D, and technical specifications as part of feasibility studies
  • Prepare tender packages and participate in the tender phase for the selection of external suppliers
  • Liaise with and monitor external contractor activities (i.e. engineering companies, machines providers, general contractors, etc.)
  • Monitor project costs and time schedule
  • Develop template and tools for project portfolio management
  • Support construction management and daily tasks such as contractor training, SPA management and quality oversight
  • Attend project review meetings and plant/project update review meetings
  • Manage project punch lists
  • Manage asset disposals
  • Create centerlines and procedures for new equipment

Requirements

  • Recent graduate (Bachelor's or Master's) in the last 12 months
  • Mechanical, industrial, automation, mechatronics engineering education or other engineering stream
  • Capable of collaborating in a team setting and efficiently managing workload priorities
  • Curious and proactive, ready to ask questions, reach out for assistance, and locate necessary information or solutions
  • Prior exposure or experience in a manufacturing environment will be considered an asset
