About the position

The Jr Property Maintenance / Handyman position at Bols Management & Investments, LLC is a full-time role based in Palm City, FL, focused on supporting maintenance and repair tasks for both commercial and residential properties. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, with an expected workload of 40 hours per week. The position offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $18 to $24, depending on experience and qualifications. Applicants are expected to have at least one year of experience in general repair and construction skills, including but not limited to painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, sheet rocking, masonry, and landscaping. In this role, the handyman will be responsible for troubleshooting minor maintenance issues that may arise, which can involve electrical, structural, plumbing, and equipment repairs or replacements. Preventive maintenance duties are also a key part of the job, including tasks such as caulking windows and doors, repairing and replacing broken windows, and performing routine plumbing repairs like fixing leaks in toilets, sinks, or urinals. Additionally, the handyman will handle routine electrical repairs, such as changing light bulbs and replacing ballasts, as well as assembling and moving furniture, hanging pictures, and setting up tables and chairs. The position also requires the handyman to perform various repairs, including door knobs and locks, door closures, and patching holes in walls. Painting both interior and exterior walls, drywall sheet repairs, taping and mudding, pressure washing, cement repair, asphalt repair, carpentry, and minor landscaping tasks are also part of the job responsibilities. The ideal candidate must possess a valid driver's license, a reliable vehicle (preferably a truck), and proof of vehicle insurance, as well as their own hand tools, as the employer only provides specialty tools. The ability to climb ladders and lift up to 50 lbs is essential for this role, which operates in a tobacco and drug-free environment.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoots minor maintenance problems involving electrical, structural, plumbing, and equipment repair or replacement.
  • Performs preventive building maintenance duties, including caulking windows and doors, and repairing or replacing broken windows.
  • Conducts routine plumbing repairs such as fixing toilets, sinks, urinals, and repairing leaking faucets.
  • Handles routine electrical repairs, including changing light bulbs, fluorescent lamps, light fixtures, and replacing ballasts.
  • Assembles and moves furniture, hangs pictures and bulletin boards, and sets up tables and chairs.
  • Repairs and replaces door knobs and locks, repairs door closures, and patches holes in walls.
  • Paints interior and exterior walls.
  • Performs drywall sheet repairs, taping, and mudding.
  • Conducts pressure washing, cement repair, and asphalt repair.
  • Handles carpentry tasks, sprinkler repair, and minor landscaping.

Requirements

  • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable vehicle, preferably a truck, with proof of vehicle insurance.
  • Must have own hand tools; employer provides only specialty tools.
  • Must have at least 1 year of experience in general repair and construction skills.
  • Mechanical knowledge and facilities maintenance experience are required.
  • Ability to climb ladders and lift up to 50 lbs.
