About the position

Precision Design Studios is looking for a Junior QA Engineer to join our team and contribute to the quality assurance of our eCommerce solutions. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting extensive software testing, ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality before they are released to our customers. You will work closely with both the QA and development teams to plan and write test cases, ensuring that all aspects of the software are thoroughly tested. Your role will involve keeping your supervisor informed of the testing project status and raising any issues that may arise during the testing process. As a Junior QA Engineer, you will also be involved in production support for release management and emergency fixes. You will have the opportunity to contribute your tools to the QA team's test suites and testing infrastructure, helping to improve our testing processes. Additionally, you will represent the QA team in design, functional requirements, and code reviews, providing valuable feedback to engineers throughout the development process. Your responsibilities will include executing and monitoring testing activities to ensure they are completed as expected, as well as tracking, reporting, and verifying software defects to ensure that all issues are resolved. This position is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, and is eager to learn and grow within the field of quality assurance.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct extensive software testing, adhering to established guidelines and procedures
  • Work closely with the QA and development teams to plan and write test cases
  • Keep supervisor informed of testing project status and raise issues as necessary
  • Provide production support for release management and emergency fixes
  • Contribute tools to the QA team's test suites and testing infrastructure
  • Represent QA in design, functional requirements, and code reviews
  • Recommend design improvements or corrections to engineers throughout the development process
  • Execute and monitor testing activities and ensure they are completed as expected
  • Track, report and verify software defects to ensure the resolution of issues found

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business field, computer science, or related discipline strongly preferred
  • Hands-on use of Jira or similar bug tracking software
  • Familiarity with testing in multiple web browsers such as Chrome, FireFox, Safari, and Internet Explorer required
  • Experience in Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS), and Microsoft Test Manager (MTM) required, and Jenkins a plus
  • Strong written and verbal client communication and follow up
  • Ability to work on multiple projects at once with a high degree of attention to detail
  • Ability to collaborate and thrive in a cross-functional, fast-paced, team environment
  • Familiarity with XML, HTML, CSS is a plus
  • Experience in eCommerce software preferred, but not required
  • Knowledge in basic SDLC
