About the position
The Junior Security Analyst position at Deloitte's Government and Public Services Cyber Practice focuses on monitoring and analyzing security events and alerts to identify and investigate suspicious or malicious activities. This role is critical in supporting the Security Operations Monitoring and Incident Response team, ensuring the integrity and security of client networks. Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security events and alerts reported by the client SIEM on a 24x7x365 basis.
- Identify and investigate suspicious or malicious activity or other cyber events that violate client policy.
- Analyze logs and events from various device types that may send logs to the client SOC.
- Document additional information collected for each security investigation.
- Record all artifacts associated with security events and incident investigations within the client SOC incident and tracking application.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required.
- 1+ years of experience working in a Security Operations Center (SOC) or Network Operations Center (NOC).
- Working knowledge of various operating systems (e.g., Windows, OS X, Linux).
- Knowledge of network communications and routing protocols (e.g., TCP, UDP, ICMP, BGP, MPLS).
- Ability to analyze security logs and events from various devices.
- Must have an Active Secret Clearance.
Nice-to-haves
- Prior professional services or federal consulting experience.
- Certifications such as GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH) or EC-Council's Certified Incident Handler (ECIH).
