About the position

The position is responsible for the overall success of daily kitchen operations at The West Hollywood EDITION. The role involves leading the kitchen staff, managing food-related functions, and ensuring high-quality culinary standards while maintaining the operating budget. The individual will also focus on improving guest and associate satisfaction, supervising kitchen areas, and ensuring compliance with sanitation and food standards.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for overall success of daily kitchen operations.
  • Exhibits culinary talents by performing tasks while leading the staff.
  • Manages all food-related functions and maintains the operating budget.
  • Supervises all kitchen areas to ensure consistent, high-quality product production.
  • Guides and develops kitchen staff, including direct reports.
  • Ensures sanitation and food standards are achieved.
  • Assists in developing new applications, ideas, and products.
  • Determines food presentation and creates decorative displays.
  • Supports kitchen shift operations and ensures compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Informs purchasing, receiving, and food storage standards.
  • Estimates daily production needs and communicates them to kitchen personnel.
  • Assists Executive Chef with kitchen operations.
  • Checks quality of raw and cooked food products to ensure standards are met.
  • Leads shifts while preparing food items and executing requests based on specifications.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED with 4 years of experience in culinary, food and beverage, or related area.
  • OR a 2-year degree in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major with 2 years of experience in culinary, food and beverage, or related area.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a luxury hotel or high-end restaurant environment.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Ability to create innovative culinary presentations.
