About the position

The Jr. SQL Developer position at Elevance Health is a hybrid role that combines remote work with in-office responsibilities, specifically for candidates residing within 50 miles of the Rocky Hill, CT location. This role reports directly to the Manager of Data Analytics and Reporting and is integral to the Quality Management (QM) team, providing analytic support to the CT Engagement Center. The successful candidate will leverage both internal and external data to create reports and tables that facilitate cross-departmental collaboration, particularly with those who interact with HUSKY Health members. In this position, the Jr. SQL Developer will engage in various tasks including the development, maintenance, and reporting associated with the Quality Management Project Plan, CT Engagement Center Performance Targets, and other contractual obligations. The role requires proficiency in programming and writing SQL queries and reports, as well as a solid understanding of data warehouse design, data definitions, and system capabilities. The developer will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timely delivery of production reports, addressing any emergency production questions or issues that arise, and maintaining the stability of the production environment. Additionally, the Jr. SQL Developer will provide analytical services to meet business data needs, troubleshoot data issues, validate result sets, and recommend process improvements. Effective communication with customers is essential to capture and implement their requirements. The role also involves documenting production process flows and contributing positively to team dynamics by suggesting improvements to processes and the work environment. Special projects and other duties may be assigned as needed, making this a dynamic and impactful position within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in development, maintenance, and reporting in the Quality Management Project Plan.
  • Program and write queries and reports.
  • Establish knowledge of data warehouse database design, data definitions, and system capabilities.
  • Ensure production reports are accurate and delivered in a timely manner.
  • Provide timely response and resolution of emergency production questions, issues, and defects.
  • Adhere to production support and implementation processes.
  • Ensure production environment stability.
  • Provide analytical services for business data needs and make recommendations for viable solutions.
  • Address data integrity issues as they arise.
  • Troubleshoot data issues, validate result sets, and recommend and implement process improvements.
  • Effectively communicate with customers to elicit, capture, develop, and implement customer requirements.
  • Document production process flows.
  • Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Requires a BS/BA degree; up to 2 years experience; or any combination of education and experience that provides an equivalent background.
  • Oracle & SQL experience strongly preferred.
  • Skilled in writing SQL queries, procedures, and functions strongly preferred.
  • Experience in Healthcare Domain strongly preferred.
