About the position

Abacus Technology is seeking a Jr. Systems Integration Engineer to provide technical support at Robins AFB. This is a full-time position that requires a comprehensive understanding of systems engineering principles and practices. The successful candidate will perform systems engineering tasks that include expertise in systems design and integration, manufacturing, quality and industrial engineering, airworthiness, and configuration and data management. The role involves developing, deploying, and maintaining processes to ensure that weapon systems are fully integrated, manufactured, sustained, configuration managed, and operationally safe, suitable, and effective throughout their life cycle. The Jr. Systems Integration Engineer will be responsible for understanding and executing AFPD 62-6, USAF Airworthiness, through standardized processes and the issuance of flight authorizations. This includes applying OSS&E and airworthiness processes, providing risk assessments, safety analysis, and recommendations, and addressing high-priority safety issues. The engineer will review and assist in performing assessments on program-specific databases, analyze BIT failure reports, and compare these reports against the BIT interpreter analyzer for accuracy of BIT indications. Additionally, the engineer will provide system integration guidance to aircraft program offices for system installation and maintenance, review and analyze technical proposals or modifications for design feasibility and system capability, and assist in conducting various assessments related to performance effectiveness, cost effectiveness, and life-cycle cost. The position requires conducting systems analyses, including system design feasibility and state-of-the-art assessments, and providing technical expertise in the application of systems engineering processes to support technology and systems development. The engineer will also assist in the development and review of the overall system design baseline, including architecture and interoperability requirements.
