About the position

The 5th Generation Mission Systems Operator/Engineer at Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is responsible for supporting Joint Simulation Environment (JSE) operations at Nellis Air Force Base. This role involves leveraging expertise in aerospace systems, particularly 5th generation aircraft, to optimize simulation capabilities and mentor fellow operators and engineers. The position requires a blend of technical knowledge, operational experience, and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Support Joint Simulation Environment (JSE) Operations by understanding air vehicle mission system architecture and subsystems integration.
• Possess recent 5th generation fighter subject matter expert experience as a pilot, flight instructor, test engineer, or developmental engineer.
• Build a detailed understanding of JSE capabilities and limitations to advise DT and OT organizations.
• Instruct, mentor, and demonstrate aircraft systems and operations to fellow operators and engineers.
• Support modeling and simulation for the development and integration of live, virtual, and constructive simulations.
• Develop and implement threat configurations and system under test configurations.
• Configure the battle space and prepare the virtual environment with customer-defined threat laydowns.
• Execute range support missions and act as a systems operator or pilot within the simulation environment.
• Provide subject matter expertise support for test planning and design reviews.
• Develop JSE Operations training programs and department policy.
• Support test planning, conduct, processes, reports, and operation procedures.
• Mentor junior employees and participate in their professional development.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5+ years of direct hands-on experience designing, operating, or testing aerospace systems.
• At least 1 year of experience working with 5th generation aircraft.
• Active Secret Clearance and ability to attain TS/SCI.

Nice-to-haves

• F-35 subject matter expertise in systems and operations.
• Graduate of an accredited Test Pilot School.
• Developmental Test and Operational Test operations experience.
• Previous experience as a Military Pilot, Test Conductor, or Test Director.
• Experience with systems engineering processes and procedures.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams in product development.
