About the position

The Judicial Assistant position is a full-time role within the Branch I Judge's Office in Jackson County, Wisconsin. The successful candidate will provide essential court administrative support and perform confidential secretarial tasks for the Circuit Judge. This role involves coordinating court calendars, scheduling proceedings, and assisting with inquiries related to case information.

Responsibilities

  • Provide court administrative support and confidential secretarial tasks for the Circuit Judge.
  • Coordinate and monitor court calendars.
  • Schedule court proceedings and prepare notices for court matters.
  • Conduct inquiries as requested by the Judge regarding case information prior to court.
  • Perform multiple receptionist duties.
  • Provide information and assistance to the general public, attorneys, and others utilizing the assistance of the Jackson County Circuit Court.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in paralegal, legal secretary, or other related field.
  • Minimum of two (2) years' experience in a law office or legal services environment.
  • Computer experience including Microsoft Office Suite, internet, and accounting applications with knowledge of the principles of budgetary accounting.
