About the position

The Junior Accountant position at Innova Solutions is responsible for supporting the preparation of financial reporting and statements, monitoring and balancing accounts, and assisting with audits. This role involves reviewing and approving various transaction requests, performing account reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with financial controls. The position requires a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills to evaluate data and troubleshoot errors in financial systems.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, research, and balance financial accounts.
• Support the preparation of financial reporting and statements.
• Collect and prepare lower-level journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Review, approve, and route miscellaneous transaction requests.
• Assist with audits by gathering and explaining requested examples and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with financial controls in areas of responsibility.
• Evaluate data for reasonableness and troubleshoot errors.
• Perform lower-level testing activities and implementation for department systems.

Requirements

• College degree in accounting or business with significant accounting coursework, or 3 years of accounting experience.
• Proficiency in MS Office, including Word and Excel.
• Keen analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Clear and concise communication skills with good grammar.

Nice-to-haves

• Understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and statutory accounting.
• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
• Familiarity with financial reporting systems, including month-end close tracking software such as Cadency and Oracle Cloud ERP.
• Knowledge of products and terminology related to accounting.
