About the position

The Junior Architect will support the creation and implementation of architectural solutions using the Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DODAF). This remote role involves detailed systems analysis and design, ensuring that architecture aligns with business objectives while considering the constraints of legacy systems.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and define system requirements, identifying opportunities for architectural improvement.
  • Develop architectural strategies and roadmaps based on DODAF.
  • Translate business needs into system requirements, collaborating with the development team.
  • Assist in the application development and rationalization process for optimal system configuration.
  • Factor in the capabilities and constraints of legacy systems such as SAMIS and CMCS into architectural development.
  • Ensure information assurance and quality assurance in all architectural applications.
  • Incorporate operational and system views into architectural design.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years consulting and/or directly relevant industry experience.
  • Proven experience as a DODAF architect.
  • Experience with refactoring and modernization efforts.
  • Knowledge of legacy systems such as SAMIS and CMCS - NATURAL, COBOL, ADABAS, FOCUS.
  • Strong knowledge of systems analysis, architectural design, and system administration.
  • Familiarity with DODAF and its application within a business context.
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills.
