About the position

Kari Whitman Interiors is seeking a Junior Architectural Designer to join their high-end interior design-build firm in Boulder, CO. This role involves supporting clients from concept through completion on luxury residential, hospitality, and commercial projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong AutoCAD and project management skills, thrive under pressure, and be willing to work long hours when necessary. This position is not remote and requires collaboration in the office environment.

Responsibilities

• Creating design boards, drawings, and FFE's (Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment)
• Assisting in client budgets and all ordering processes including specifications, purchase orders, and shipping
• Serving as a liaison with vendors and sub-contractors
• Managing and maintaining thorough knowledge of all items within client files, including specifications and meeting notes
• Performing general office operations such as answering phones, filing, and running errands as needed

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in architecture
• 3+ years of experience in architectural design
• Extremely strong AutoCAD skills (in-depth assessment required)
• Strong Excel skills
• Excellent communication skills and willingness to listen and take notes
• Self-driven work ethic with the ability to follow through on pending items
• Strong organizational skills and efficiency
• Ability to self-motivate and work independently
• Discretion with confidential client and business information
• Must have own laptop and vehicle
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (up to 30% travel required)
• Comfortable working in a dog-friendly office

Nice-to-haves
