Junior Automation Engineer

About the position

Tesis USA LLC is hiring candidates for a Junior Automation Engineer position in Northeast Houston, located between the I10 beltway and Alt 90. The company is a leading provider of professional services for the development of industrial automation services and information management, offering solutions to world-class clients seeking to enhance their competitiveness with new technologies. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechatronics, or a similar field, along with 1 to 4 years of experience in the electrical and automation industrial environment. Candidates must possess knowledge of low and high voltage, power and electrical supply in production processes, and the ability to read and understand electrical schematics. Proficiency in Rockwell automation technologies, including PLC programming and HMI design, is essential, as candidates will be evaluated on this expertise. The position involves conducting routine tests, evaluating plant machinery, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, and maintaining critical process production equipment. Candidates must also ensure the correct operation of equipment and maintain strict maintenance schedules for critical systems.

Responsibilities

• Conduct electrical field activities
• Perform electrical commissioning
• Troubleshoot, enhance, and support the electrical field engineering team
• Ensure quality and compliance with parameters and codes
• Interact with electrical engineers and staff to identify, define, and resolve developmental issues
• Specify materials for procurement and monitor material procurement processes
• Review and interpret design drawings and specifications
• Understand electrical schematics and locate equipment in the production area
• Use electrical tools to diagnose and correct issues

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechatronics, or similar
• 1 to 4 years of experience in the electrical and automation industrial environment
• Knowledge of low and high voltage, power, and electrical supply in production processes
• Ability to read and understand electrical schematics
• Proficiency in Rockwell automation technologies (Allen Bradley), PLC programming, and HMI design
• Experience in electrical cabinet mounting, terminations, and conduit
• Ability to conduct routine tests and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation issues
• Experience in maintaining sensors and critical process production equipment
• Knowledge of PLC and HMI communication networks (Profinet, Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet, Profibus DP, Modbus Plus)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
