About the position

The Junior Budget Analyst will assist government program and project managers, as well as budget financial managers, in the creation and submission of acquisition documents. This role involves tracking and inputting funding documents, invoices, and contracts, as well as reconciling budgets across various financial systems.

Responsibilities

  • Assist government program/project managers and budget financial managers in creating and submitting acquisition documents.
  • Track and input funding documents, invoices, and contracts.
  • Accomplish daily reports and reconcile current, prior, and cancelling year database budgets in the Specialized Accounting and Finance Enterprise System (SAFES).
  • Perform daily validation and reconciliation of budgets in the Comprehensive Cost and Requirement (CCaR) system for all fiscal years.
  • Analyze and review new accounting transactions in the Commander's Resource Integration System (CRIS) database and post them in CCaR.
  • Reconcile Commitment/Obligation/Expenditures (C/O/Es) and link all new transactions, including travel, in the Reconciliation module.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in math, engineering, business, or the sciences.
  • Experience working with USAF Financial Management processes and accounting systems is desirable.
  • Current knowledge of DoD program management execution support is highly desirable.
  • Proficient in M/S Office applications, including M/S Project, M/S PowerPoint, M/S Word, and Excel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and quantitative analytical skills.

  • Experience with reimbursable funds management.
  • Understanding of the acquisition process.
