About the position

Join our Energy trading business as a Junior Business Credit Analyst in Houston. Our Commodity Markets and Finance Division provides a full spectrum offering to clients with exposure to commodities. This division is responsible for risk management, financing, physical execution, and logistics across the full spectrum of commodities and in all regions. In this role, you will cover a portfolio of North American trading counterparties and actively communicate with various trading desks to fully understand the risk nature of the transactions requiring analysis and approval. Your responsibilities will include researching, gathering information, and preparing credit review memos that align with the potential trade exposure and the credit quality of Macquarie's counterparties. Building open dialogue-based relationships will be crucial for your success, as you will meet with existing and potential clients as part of the due diligence process to gain a better understanding of their financial position and operations.

Responsibilities

  • Cover a portfolio of North American trading counterparties.
  • Communicate with various trading desks to understand the risk nature of transactions requiring analysis and approval.
  • Research and gather information to prepare credit review memos.
  • Build relationships with existing and potential clients as part of the due diligence process.
  • Analyze the financial position and operations of clients.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or other quantitative disciplines.
  • Experience in broader credit risk analysis with a high degree of ownership, delivery, and timeliness.
  • Experience in trade documentation initialization, review, and negotiation of credit risk and other risk clauses.
  • Previous exposure to financial analysis and credit underwriting, including understanding complex corporate structures.
  • Understanding of credit exposure calculation and credit limit management.
