About the position
Turtle is seeking a Junior Buyer to primarily support the New York/New Jersey region. This entry-level position will be responsible for expediting open purchase orders, managing information related to open orders, problem-solving, managing returns, invoice management, purchasing goods within assigned vendors, and delivering best-in-class customer service. The role will report to the Somerset, NJ location and will have some remote capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Learn to source and place purchase orders
- Manage information within the ERP system concerning back-orders, expected ship dates, etc.
- Proactively communicate with the sales team as it pertains to their open orders and back-order dates.
- Assist buyers with assigned current projects.
- Procure assigned items as required
- Support inventory management process
Requirements
- BA/BS preferred, not required
- MS Office (including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
- Problem solving and analytical skills
- Communication skills (verbal & written)
- Ability to be a self-starter, organize and prioritize work
- Ability to work both onsite and offsite as required (this role will require both, as we are in a hybrid work environment)
- Prior experience in distribution preferred especially electrical purchasing
- Understanding procurement in a distribution environment a plus
- Must possess a willingness to learn.
