About the position

As a Junior Cloud Engineer, you will join a team that ensures the continuous improvement and support of application and supporting infrastructure for customer-facing products on public cloud platforms. This role is pivotal in applying engineering principles to build and enhance both new and existing infrastructure, tools, and processes, with a strong emphasis on automated solutions. You will collaborate closely with various teams across the company, primarily working alongside Software Development teams to ensure seamless integration and functionality of cloud services. Training for this position will be provided in a team-oriented, hands-on instructional environment, guided by a mentor. You will be assigned daily tasks to complete and will be required to engage in internal courses throughout your training period. These courses will cover essential topics such as common network and server technologies, as well as operations, engineering, and development responsibilities specific to the company. Additionally, you will have access to a curated library of books and instructional videos for self-paced study, allowing you to deepen your understanding and skills in cloud engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure continuous improvement and support of application and supporting infrastructure for customer-facing products on public cloud platforms.
  • Apply engineering principles to build and improve new or existing infrastructure, tools, and processes with a focus on automated solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with multiple teams across the company, primarily with Software Development teams.
  • Participate in training programs and complete daily tasks as assigned.
  • Engage in internal courses covering network and server technologies, operations, engineering, and development responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in MIS, CIS, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience with one or more public cloud platforms, preferably AWS and Azure.
  • Strong understanding of basic networking principles.
  • Experience with both Windows and Linux server operating systems.
  • Familiarity with programming and scripting languages such as JavaScript, Python, PowerShell, Bash, JSON, SQL, and YAML.
  • Preferred experience with Git-based code repositories, Terraform, and Ansible.
  • Desire and ability to quickly learn and apply new skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to participate in a 24-hour on-call rotation.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with DevOps practices and tools.
  • Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
