As a Junior Cloud Engineer, you will be an integral part of our cloud services team, responsible for assisting in the design, implementation, and maintenance of our Azure cloud-based architecture. You will work closely with other team members to support and deploy scalable, reliable, and secure cloud infrastructure solutions. Your role will involve a variety of tasks that contribute to the overall success of our cloud initiatives, ensuring that our infrastructure meets the highest standards of performance and security. In this position, you will assist in the design, implementation, and maintenance of our PEMAE environment with a forward focus of incorporating new Azure offerings. You will also be responsible for developing and maintaining ARM and DSC code for SharePoint 2019 infrastructure, which includes Application, Web, Identity, and Active Directory servers. Monitoring cloud infrastructure performance will be a key part of your responsibilities, as you will identify areas for optimization to improve utilization and assist with cost-efficiency. You will collaborate with members of our application and development team to utilize and implement strategies for new technologies such as Azure OpenAI. Security will be a primary focus, as you will implement and maintain cloud security best practices, ensuring compliance with DoD standards and regulations. Additionally, you will assist with documenting cloud infrastructure configurations, procedures, and best practices while contributing to knowledge-sharing initiatives. Troubleshooting efforts related to cloud infrastructure, including service interruptions/outages, network connectivity, and performance issues, will also be part of your role. You will perform PEMAE systems checks to report morning and evening operational status and assist with briefings, documents, presentations, and responses to data calls as needed. This position is currently practicing a hybrid telework model, requiring onsite work 2-3 times per week depending on tasks and workload demands.
