Alpine Solutions Group is seeking a Junior Commercial Underwriter to join our team in Richmond, Virginia. As a Junior Commercial Underwriter, you will be responsible for providing support in the underwriting process, which includes entering, maintaining, processing, and issuing insurance or insurance-related documents. This position is crucial in ensuring that our clients receive timely and accurate insurance services, and it offers a great opportunity for professional growth within the property and casualty insurance sector. In this role, you will engage with various stakeholders, including clients and internal teams, to facilitate the underwriting process. Responsibilities

  • Provide support in entering, maintaining, processing, and issuing insurance or insurance-related documents.
  • Engage with clients and internal teams to facilitate the underwriting process.
  • Demonstrate efficiency in production work and maintain attention to detail.
  • Learn and apply knowledge of commercial lines of insurance, particularly property and casualty.
  • Communicate effectively with customers over the phone.

Requirements

  • Experience as a tier 1 commercial underwriter or a licensed producer within commercial lines of insurance.
  • Knowledge of property and casualty insurance and experience working for an insurance company.
  • Familiarity with Certificates of Insurance (COI) and the ability to read and understand them.
  • Desire to grow and develop as an underwriter.
  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently with production work.
  • Experience in customer communication, particularly over the phone.

Nice-to-haves

  • PNC License or Licensed Property and Casualty.
  • Previous underwriting experience for commercial lines.
  • Knowledge of Errors and Omissions (ENO) and coverage.
