About The Position

The Junior Consultant position at Public Consulting Group (PCG) involves supporting the Human Services team in various projects related to rate setting and payment reform initiatives for government agencies. Requirements

  • 1-5 years of relevant work experience with government and/or nonprofit finance office, accounting firm, consulting firm, Medicaid or other policy office.
  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in finance, accounting, business management, or a relevant field of study.
  • Experience in financial analysis and rate calculations based on sound accounting and statistical principles.
  • Strong Microsoft Office applications skills, especially MS Excel.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in public or business administration is helpful.
  • Experience with database and analysis tools.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting PCG Human Services team members in completing tasks related to rate setting and payment reform initiatives.
  • Conducting financial and data analysis using Excel and Access, including reviews of financial cost reports and time study data.
  • Providing administrative support for various projects, including data entry and quality assurance of cost reports and survey data.
  • Serving as primary contact for PCG's time study help lines and email accounts.
  • Understanding and evaluating current rate setting methodologies and making recommendations for improvements.
  • Analyzing and interpreting federal and state laws and regulations.
  • Researching complex topics using a range of sources and preparing written reports for consultants and clients.
