The Junior Controller position at an established real estate owner/management company in Great Neck, NY, is designed for an organized individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The role involves overseeing accounting functions, participating in financial reporting, and providing leadership to the accounting team. Responsibilities

• Participate in monthly closings and financial reporting, analyzing variances to budgets/benchmarks and maintaining supporting schedules.
• Ensure Accounting, A/P & A/R Departments are performing as expected by providing guidance, leadership, training, and support.
• Analyze reports for accuracy and drill down variances to understand the cause and participate in the solution.
• Interface with external accounting firms regarding quarterly reporting, government reporting compliance, tax preparation, and other projects.
• Perform ad hoc projects as required by the Principals and CFO.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance is a must.
• At least 4 years of supervisory experience.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel (vlookups and pivot tables).
• Proficient writing and strong communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• CPA or MBA preferred.
• Experience in the NYC real estate market is a plus.
