About the position

The Junior Controls Hardware Designer is an entry-level position aimed at recent graduates in electrical engineering and industrial automation. This role provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in control systems hardware design while working in a collaborative, high-tech environment. The designer will assist in developing electrical designs, support component selection, and engage in hardware testing and troubleshooting under the guidance of experienced engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing electrical designs for control systems, including creating schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts.
  • Support the selection and specification of electrical components such as sensors, controllers, and power supplies.
  • Work closely with senior engineers and designers to integrate control hardware into complete system solutions.
  • Help maintain and organize Bill of Materials (BOMs) for various projects.
  • Participate in hardware testing and troubleshooting under the guidance of experienced engineers.
  • Contribute to documentation and ensure designs meet industry standards and customer requirements.
  • Engage in learning opportunities to understand best practices in hardware design and industrial automation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, or a related field.
  • Internship or project experience in hardware design, control systems, or automation is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of electrical components, circuit design, and power distribution.
  • Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, EPLAN, SolidWorks Electrical) is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of PLC and HMI systems, and communication protocols like Ethernet/IP, PROFINET, or MODBUS is a plus, but not required.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and communicate clearly with peers.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, EPLAN, SolidWorks Electrical) is advantageous.
