About the position

SKIMS is creating the next generation of underwear, loungewear, and shapewear, and setting new standards by providing solutions for every body. We're disrupting the industry with our game-changing product and culturally driven creative. As a Junior Copywriter, you will be a star copywriter who loves words that wow and knows how to write them well. Sharp, detail-oriented, and ready to hit the ground running, you will write best-in-class creative copy for a variety of projects including but not limited to marketing emails, product descriptions, web/mobile copy, and retail signage copy. You will be a part of the SKIMS marketing team and work directly with the Copy Director to ensure the SKIMS brand voice remains compelling and consistent across all touchpoints.

Responsibilities

  • Write and take ownership of product descriptions, marketing emails, restock emails, SMS copy, app copy, and all copy needed for the website including home page, landing pages and collection descriptions
  • Ideate compelling email concepts then bring those ideas to life through short, attention-grabbing subject lines, headlines, and body copy
  • Translate creative direction from the brand team and marketing objectives from the ecommerce team into succinct copy that drives sales
  • Familiarize yourself with new SKIMS styles that launch every week and write accurate, attention-grabbing product descriptions
  • Distill technical fashion jargon into consumer-friendly copy that is easy to read and will drive sales
  • Pay close attention to and diligently track updates to the SKIMS marketing calendar to ensure copy deadlines are met
  • Collaborate with the brand team and ecommerce team on a variety of assets, keeping the company's functional and larger business goals in mind
  • Attend monthly marketing meetings, weekly status meetings, and bi-weekly digital content meetings
  • Learn the SKIMS voice and know it inside out
  • Help keep the brand voice and copy guide up to date
  • Ensure SKIMS brand voice and copy are consistent across all channels
  • Assist with writing retail signage copy for SKIMS stores as needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in English or Journalism.
  • 3 to 4 years of copywriting experience at a fashion company or creative agency
  • Copy portfolio with a range of samples that exhibit skill for writing bold, slightly tongue-in-cheek copy
  • Ability to write concise, bold copy that excites and drives sales
  • Flawless attention to detail and organization skills
  • Solid command of English grammar, spelling, syntax, and vocabulary
  • A deep understanding of social media and pop culture
  • Familiarity of audience behaviors and writing styles across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, X, and Threads
  • Must work on site in the SKIMS LA office on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays
