About the position

The Junior Copywriter at McKinney collaborates with an Art Director to create compelling concepts and narratives for various social media platforms, presentations, and integrated campaigns. This role emphasizes creativity, quality control, and relationship management, ensuring that all copy produced aligns with the client's brand and objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Works in concert with an Art Director to develop and create great creative concepts and presentation approaches.
  • Create exceptional advertising concepts and take responsibility for all copy involved.
  • Write original copy and edit content for a range of marketing and communications materials.
  • Understand the client's business, brand, products, and their customers.
  • Be adept at varying the voice, style, and other characteristics of messaging based on the industry, company, or target audience.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and marketing news.
  • Present concepts with the Junior Art Director to the Associate Creative Director and Creative Director.
  • Report to Associate Creative Director and/ Creative Director on project status.
  • Incorporate feedback from Creative Directors, and clients with precision and a positive attitude.
  • Ensures the quality, craft and implementation of all work done on projects assigned.
  • Delivers creative work that is on time, on target and on budget.
  • Pays meticulous attention to detail.
  • Reviews work to ensure accuracy.
  • Becomes an expert in brand standards.
  • Collaborates with writers, strategists, account management, and clients.
  • Always leads by example.

Requirements

  • Up to 1 year of internship and/or work experience as a copywriter.
  • A creative portfolio is required.
  • Experience with Google Suite (Docs, Slides, Sheets, etc.).
  • Working knowledge of digital, UX and UI design principles is a plus.
  • Proofreading experience and familiarity with standard style guides.
  • Experience with content management systems.
