About the position

Robert Half is seeking a motivated and hungry entry-level Cyber Security Analyst for an immediate start with a client in the Las Vegas area. This position is fully onsite, and the ideal candidate must be currently located in Las Vegas. The Cyber Security Analyst will play a crucial role in ensuring the security of the organization's systems and information assets. This includes applying best practices to secure the cyber infrastructure and responding to various security-related tasks. The candidate will be responsible for protecting against unauthorized access, modification, or destruction of data and will collaborate with end users to determine security needs by department. In this role, the Cyber Security Analyst will perform the deployment, integration, and initial configuration of all new security solutions, as well as enhancements to existing security solutions, in accordance with standard best operating procedures. The analyst will also conduct investigations into problematic activities and foster a culture of security consciousness within the organization. Additionally, the position involves overseeing vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify weaknesses in systems and applications, coordinating remediation efforts to address identified vulnerabilities promptly, and managing user access rights, permissions, and roles to ensure least privilege access. Periodic access reviews and the implementation of access controls will also be part of the responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity, information security, or related field
  • 2-3 years directly related experience
  • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, standards, and technologies
  • Proven experience in IT security, risk management, and policy development
  • Previous experience working within a retail environment, including point-of-sale systems.
