In this full-time position, the Junior Cyber Security Analyst will report directly to the Chief Marketing and Operations Officer. The primary responsibility of this role is to support the security team in protecting MyBambu's digital assets and customer information. This includes monitoring, analyzing, and responding to security incidents, as well as assisting in the implementation of security policies and procedures. The analyst will play a crucial role in ensuring the security of the organization by actively participating in various security-related tasks and projects.

Responsibilities

• Monitor security events and alerts using security information and event management (SIEM) tools to detect and respond to potential threats.
• Assist in investigating and responding to security incidents, including analyzing logs, identifying vulnerabilities, and implementing remediation strategies.
• Support the vulnerability assessment process by scanning systems, analyzing results, and working with teams to remediate identified vulnerabilities.
• Help manage and monitor access controls to ensure that only authorized users have access to sensitive systems and data.
• Contribute to the development and delivery of security awareness training programs to educate employees on best practices and potential threats.
• Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of security incidents, vulnerabilities, and remediation efforts.
• Assist in ensuring compliance with internal security policies, procedures, and industry regulations, particularly those relevant to the neobanking sector.
• Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and best practices to help protect the organization against emerging risks.
• Work on various cybersecurity projects, such as implementing new security tools, conducting risk assessments, and improving security processes.

Requirements

• Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English, preferred.
• One (1) year of internships in cybersecurity, IT security, or a related field.
• Bachelor's degree in cyber security, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Pursuing or holding certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), or similar is preferred.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with cybersecurity tools and technologies, such as SIEM systems, vulnerability scanners, firewalls, and endpoint protection.
• Strong analytical skills to assess security alerts, identify patterns, and determine the appropriate response to potential threats.
• Ability to think critically and solve problems in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey security issues and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment, collaborating with other Tech and security professionals to achieve common goals.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new security technologies, methods, and challenges in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.
• High level of professionalism, ethics, and discretion in handling sensitive security information.
