About the position

The Junior Data Engineer role is a full-time position based in Denver, CO, aimed at entry-level candidates with a passion for technology and data. The role requires a solid foundation in programming, particularly in Python and SQL, and familiarity with various Big Data technologies and tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain data pipelines and ETL processes.
• Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to understand data requirements.
• Implement data storage solutions and optimize database performance.
• Ensure data quality and integrity throughout the data lifecycle.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to team knowledge sharing.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
• 1-4 years of programming experience, particularly in Python and SQL.
• Familiarity with Big Data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, and NoSQL databases.
• Good understanding of object-oriented programming principles.
• Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with additional programming languages such as Java, C#, C++, or Scala.
• Familiarity with data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI.
• Understanding of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
