About The Position
The Junior Database Administrator (JDBA) will play a crucial role in supporting the IGEN Division by assisting in the management and optimization of database operations. This position involves tracking and resolving incidents and requests related to databases, ensuring that service-related issues are identified and addressed within established Service Level Agreements (SLAs). The JDBA will be responsible for reviewing operational database logs and reports on a daily basis, which is essential for maintaining the health and performance of the database environment. In collaboration with system administrators, the JDBA will help manage and configure the database environment, ensuring that it operates efficiently. The role also requires working closely with software developers to optimize and tune database queries, which is vital for enhancing application performance. The JDBA will monitor the health of the database environment proactively, taking necessary actions to maintain optimal conditions and reaching out to the Database Administrator (DBA) for guidance when needed. Additionally, the JDBA will participate as a key member of the disaster recovery test team, documenting the database environment and the specific needs of each application. This position also involves being an active member of project teams, sharing process knowledge, and continuously learning and developing professionally. The JDBA will perform other related duties as required and assigned, contributing to the overall success of the database management team.
