About the position

ALAO is seeking a Junior Designer to join their team in Brooklyn, NY. This role focuses on both architecture and interior design, requiring a candidate who is passionate and proficient in these fields. The Junior Designer will participate in various design processes, contribute to technical documentation, and support project coordination efforts.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the design and documentation process.
• Prepare presentation drawings and material boards.
• Assist in the production of technical drawings and construction documents.
• Attend project meetings, take and organize meeting minutes, and support construction contract administration tasks.
• Coordinate with team, vendors/suppliers, contractors, and others to support project success.
• Manage individual deliverables and workflow within the firm's project schedules and communicate effectively about that schedule within the design team.

Requirements

• Professional degree in Architecture.
• 1-5 years of professional architecture experience.
• Strong Design and Digital Design Skills.
• Proficiency in ArchiCAD (required for drafting, modeling, and design development).
• Excellent visualization skills (Lumion preferred).
• Experience with technical detailing and knowledge of construction processes.
• Ability to thrive in a collaborative, team-based environment.
• Legal Authorization to work in the US.
