About the position

The Junior Embryologist at GenPrime California is responsible for performing high-quality IVF laboratory procedures under the supervision of the clinic's senior embryologist and Lab Director. This role supports patients undergoing fertility treatments and involves assisting with andrology and embryology procedures, performing daily laboratory tasks, and adhering to regulatory guidelines to ensure excellent patient outcomes. The position offers opportunities for growth into a senior embryologist role.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a range of basic ART (Assisted Reproductive Technology) laboratory procedures including sperm preparation, oocyte handling, insemination, fertilization checks, embryo culture, and cryopreservation.
  • Assist in advanced procedures such as Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI) and embryo biopsy under the supervision of senior embryologists.
  • Provide diagnostic and therapeutic support to patients, ensuring compassionate care throughout their fertility journey.
  • Collaborate with the IVF Laboratory Director and senior team members to ensure effective coordination and optimal use of laboratory resources.
  • Conduct quality control activities and participate in maintaining laboratory standards in line with U.S. and California regulations, as well as GenPrime's internal policies.
  • Rotate between andrology and endocrinology labs as needed, providing coverage during periods of high workload or team absences.
  • Assist in cleaning, equipment maintenance, and inventory management to ensure a well-functioning laboratory environment.
  • Communicate clearly and empathetically with patients and fellow GenPrime team members.
  • Scrupulously follow laboratory SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and safety policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (Biology, Chemistry, Reproductive Biology, or a related discipline).
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in embryology or a related laboratory setting.
  • Extensive knowledge of laboratory skills and ability to adapt to new technologies and techniques.
  • Familiarity with ART procedures including sperm preparation, oocyte handling, and embryo culture.
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with laboratory equipment and electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
  • Knowledge of relevant healthcare regulations and compliance requirements, including HIPAA.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working in an IVF or fertility clinic.
  • Knowledge of advanced reproductive techniques, including ICSI and embryo biopsy.
  • Certification in Clinical Embryology or related field is a plus.
