About the position
The Junior Engineer - Instrumentation Engineer (Shock and Vibration) position at AI Signal Research, Inc. (ASRI) involves supporting ongoing projects within the NSWCDD E45 Dynamic Environment RDT&E team, focusing on shock and vibration testing. The role requires hands-on fieldwork, troubleshooting, and integration of instrumentation systems, with a strong emphasis on teamwork and support for complex projects. The position also involves travel for mission support on vessels at sea, making it essential for candidates to be adaptable and willing to work in dynamic environments.
Responsibilities
- Support ongoing projects within the NSWCDD E45 Dynamic Environment RDT&E team with a focus on shock & vibration testing.
- Conduct hands-on fieldwork, running instrumentation, troubleshooting, and integration.
- Setup and execute instrumentation support for tests at PRTR, EEA, and offsite ranges.
- Design, develop, and fabricate hardware and software instrumentation solutions for laboratory and field testing.
Requirements
- BS Degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline.
- U.S. Citizen with Security Clearance.
- Hands-on experience in running and troubleshooting instrumentation systems.
- Ability to work in both Laboratory and Field environments.
- Strong communication skills for customer consultations and development of instrumentation plans.
- Knowledge of principles and practices of aerospace, mechanical, electrical, computer, or systems engineering.
- SolidWorks and MATLAB expertise.
