Adams Electric Company is seeking a dynamic and talented individual for the position of Junior Estimator in Charlotte, North Carolina. In this role, you will bring innovative ideas to the table while working closely with experienced Estimators and Senior Estimators. You will progressively master the full cycle of estimating responsibilities, which includes setting up estimate folders and templates, utilizing Bluebeam for counting, measuring, and analyzing plans and specifications. You will develop the knowledge necessary to analyze plans, produce quantity take-offs, assist in creating winning strategies, and gain a comprehensive understanding of complex projects to develop accurate and competitive project cost estimates. The Junior Estimator will be responsible for initiating the template folder, BlueBeam, and Building Connected at the start of estimating projects, ensuring that critical deadlines are met while providing accurate information. You will conduct initial analyses of drawings and specifications to ensure all required information is provided, assist in developing cost estimates by soliciting specific pricing from vendors and subcontractors, and aid in providing detailed quantity takeoffs and unit prices for review with Estimators, Senior Chief Estimators, and the Vice President of Preconstruction.
Responsibilities
- Initiate the template folder, BlueBeam, and Building Connected at the start of estimating projects.
- Meet critical deadlines and provide accurate information.
- Conduct initial analysis of drawings and specifications to ensure required information is provided.
- Assist in developing cost estimates by soliciting specific pricing from vendors and/or subcontractors.
- Aid in providing detailed quantity takeoffs and unit prices for review with Estimators, Senior Chief Estimators, and/or Vice President of Preconstruction.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, Bluebeam, and estimating (Accubid, Building Connected) and scheduling software is a must.
- Working knowledge of electrical construction methods, systems, and installations.
- 1-3 years relevant Construction experience, preferably in the electrical construction industry.
- High School Diploma required; Associates Degree preferred.
