About the position

LMI is seeking a skilled junior event planner with a Secret clearance at a Washington DC area location. The successful LMI junior event planner will demonstrate competency in project execution, leadership, critical thinking, relationship management, and business growth while upholding the highest standard of ethical behavior. Responsibilities

  • Plan events and conferences for national and international visitors to a U.S. government office.
  • Organize meals, tours, programs, documents for distribution, audio-visual needs, transportation, translation services and accommodations as required.
  • Work in conjunction with a government contracting officer, government sponsors of events, and existing protocol offices to provide support.
  • Manage government gift locker for international visitors.
  • Support other event planners in documenting best practices and practical guidance in an Event Planning guide for ongoing use by the government office, and maintain guide over time.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university field.
  • One (1) year event planning support experience to include managing customer expectations and working directly with customers.
  • Outstanding customer service abilities combined with initiative, judgment, creativity, and flexibility.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft applications.

Nice-to-haves

  • Two (2) years' experience supporting events with a Federal Agency or multinational organization.
  • Knowledge of options within the Pentagon for catering, photography and conference space.
  • Experience with entry and exit procedures, including proper documentation, for Pentagon guests.
  • Understanding of International cultural considerations when developing a Washington based visitor program.
  • Foreign Distinguished Visitors Training at the Protocol School of Washington or equivalent.
