About the position

Aston Carter is seeking a Junior Financial Analyst for an entry-level position in Columbia, MD. This role offers an opportunity for growth within the company and involves a hybrid work schedule. The analyst will be responsible for monitoring and analyzing pooled loans, ensuring compliance, and providing remittance information. This position is a 6-month contract with the potential for hire.

Responsibilities

• Providing remittance and correction information to servicer.
• Monitoring and analysis of pooled loans to determine non-compliance and communicating information to investors.
• Evaluating servicer performance to ensure compliance with stated agreements.
• Participating in system enhancements by attending user groups and testing.
• Identifying and communicating processing exceptions relevant to similar series across individual portfolios.
• Maintaining a working knowledge of areas of expertise, including Collateral, Securities, Default, or Trust Administration.
• Training junior level staff and reviewing their processing and reconciliations.
• Proposing recommendations and implementing automated solutions on an ongoing basis.

Requirements

• Experience with Microsoft Excel (Formulas, Pivot Tables, VLookup, and more).
• Preferably 1+ year in Financial Services (including internship experience).
