About the position

This application developer position is for a project that performs Agile Software Development for systems that are used to support our client's mission. The role involves software development from the requirements gathering phase through coding and testing. The developer will be responsible for communicating status updates, including issues and risks to the team, and collaborating with team members to reach problem resolution. This position requires a willingness to learn new skill sets on the job in a fast-paced environment, making adaptability and a proactive approach essential for success. The developer will work closely with other team members to ensure that client needs and expectations are met or exceeded, demonstrating a passion for solving complex software challenges. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in full stack application development, with experience in both front-end and back-end technologies. They will be expected to understand complex business processes and how they relate to the systems supporting them. The role also requires the ability to research problems, identify root causes, and recommend and implement effective solutions. Good communication skills, both written and verbal, are crucial for this position, as is the ability to collaborate effectively with team members. As a Junior Full Stack React/Node.js Developer, the candidate will be part of a dynamic team that values innovation and teamwork. Responsibilities

  • Participate in Agile Software Development for mission-critical systems.
  • Engage in software development from requirements gathering through coding and testing.

  • Learn new technologies and skills in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 1-3 years of professional experience in a development environment.
  • Experience with React UI or related UI frameworks (Angular).
  • Experience with Node.js.
  • Experience with AWS Cloud Tools.
  • Ability to understand complex business processes and their relation to supporting systems.
  • Ability to research problems, identify root causes, and implement solutions.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to collaborate with team members effectively.
  • Demonstrates a passion for solving complex software challenges.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of Java (preferred).
  • Experience with AWS Lambda (preferred).
  • Experience with SPA concepts and libraries (preferred).
  • Experience with agile and DevOps tools such as Git, Jenkins, Maven, Ansible, and Junit (preferred).
  • Experience in writing SQL and working with relational databases like PostgreSQL and/or Dynamo DB (highly preferred).
  • ICE cleared preferred.
  • USCIS, CBP, or Top Secret clearance preferred.
  • Any other DHS clearance preferred.
  • Any other government clearance preferred.
