About the position

This application developer position is for a project that performs Agile Software Development for systems that are used to support our client's mission. The role involves software development from the requirements gathering phase through coding and testing. The developer will be responsible for communicating status updates, including issues and risks to the team, and collaborating with team members to reach problem resolution. This position requires a willingness to learn new skill sets on the job in a fast-paced environment, making adaptability and a proactive approach essential for success. The developer will work closely with other team members to ensure that client needs and expectations are met or exceeded, demonstrating a passion for solving complex software challenges and enjoying team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the full software development lifecycle from requirements gathering to coding and testing.
• Communicate status updates, including issues and risks, to the team.
• Collaborate with team members to resolve problems and ensure client needs are met.
• Learn new technologies and skills on the job in a fast-paced environment.
• Research problems, identify root causes, and recommend and implement solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 1-3 years of professional experience in a development environment.
• Experience as a full stack application developer.
• Proficiency with React UI or related UI frameworks (e.g., Angular).
• Experience with Node.js.
• Familiarity with AWS Cloud Tools.
• Ability to understand complex business processes and their relation to supporting systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to research issues.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with team members.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of Java.
• Experience with AWS Lambda.
• Familiarity with Single Page Application (SPA) concepts and libraries.
• Experience with agile and DevOps tools such as Git, Jenkins, Maven, Ansible, and Junit.
• Experience in writing SQL and working with relational databases like PostgreSQL and/or Dynamo DB.
• ICE clearance preferred.
• USCIS, CBP, or Top Secret clearance preferred.
• Any other DHS clearance preferred.
• Any other government clearance preferred.
