About the position

This application developer position is for a project that performs Agile Software Development for systems that are used to support our client's mission. The role involves software development from the requirements gathering phase through coding and testing. The developer will be responsible for communicating status updates, including issues and risks, to the team. Collaboration with team members is essential to reach problem resolution, and the developer will have the opportunity to learn new skill sets on the job in a fast-paced environment. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to delivering high-quality software solutions that meet client needs and expectations.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the full software development lifecycle from requirements gathering to coding and testing.
• Communicate status updates, including issues and risks, to the team.
• Collaborate with team members to resolve problems and ensure project success.
• Learn new technologies and skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Develop full stack applications using React and Node.js.
• Utilize AWS Cloud Tools in application development.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 1-3 years of professional experience in a development environment.
• Experience as a full stack application developer.
• Proficiency in React UI or related UI frameworks (e.g., Angular).
• Experience with Node.js.
• Familiarity with AWS Cloud Tools.
• Ability to understand complex business processes and their relation to supporting systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills to research issues, identify root causes, and implement solutions.
• Aptitude for quickly learning new technologies and a desire for professional growth.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with team members.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of Java.
• Experience with AWS Lambda.
• Familiarity with Single Page Application (SPA) concepts and libraries.
• Experience with agile and DevOps tools such as Git, Jenkins, Maven, Ansible, and Junit.
• Experience in writing SQL and working with relational databases like PostgreSQL and/or Dynamo DB.
• ICE clearance preferred.
• USCIS, CBP, or Top Secret clearance preferred.
• Any other DHS clearance preferred.
• Any other government clearance preferred.
