About the position

The Junior Graphic Designer at Andy's Frozen Custard is responsible for creating visual communications that effectively convey ideas and messages for the company. This role involves using both computer software and hand-drawn techniques to develop designs for various projects, including advertisements, branding, and marketing materials. The designer will collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure that all projects meet company standards and deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and/or version the overall layout and production design for projects.
  • Obtain approval of concepts by preparing rough layouts for review.
  • Prepare final layouts by marking and pasting up finished copy and art.
  • Obtain final copy and art by operating typesetting, printing, and similar equipment.
  • Make purchases from vendors when required.
  • Ensure finished projects align with company and project requirements before product leaves department for printing, delivery, and/or distribution.
  • Collaborate with internal sales and marketing departments, customers, and outside vendors and contractors to ensure all expectations are sufficiently met.
  • Assist in key event management coordination between operations, marketing and onsite activation for the Andy's NASCAR races.
  • Assist marketing team members with projects as needed.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred; BFA in Art, Graphic Arts, or related certifications highly preferred.
  • At least 1-3 years in graphic design required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent sense of design.
  • Thorough understanding of typography, drawing, and lettering techniques.
  • Comfortable working under tight deadlines in fast-paced environments.
  • Strong team player who can take direction well.
  • Ability to assess costs and quote prices for prospective clients.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software and graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Ability to work on PC platform.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail is a must.
  • Understanding of, or ability to learn, art and print methods that relate to the organization's product and packaging needs.
  • Video editing and an understanding of digital and social space.

Nice-to-haves

  • Project management and managerial experience preferred.
  • Adobe Creative Suite: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Adobe Illustrator: 1 year (Preferred)
