About the position

Janney Montgomery Scott LLC is seeking a Junior Graphic Designer to join our Learning & Professional Development Team. This entry-level, part-time position is primarily remote, with the expectation of traveling to our Philadelphia Headquarters up to twice a month. As a Junior Designer, you will play a crucial role in creating visually appealing and effective designs for various events, programs, and projects. You will collaborate closely with the Senior Designer, allowing you to develop your creative skills while also managing your own projects. In this role, you will utilize the Adobe Creative Cloud Suite to produce original and templated designs that align with Janney's established brand aesthetic. Your responsibilities will include working on a diverse range of projects, such as brochures, PowerPoint and Word templates, logo branding, website graphics, email communications, event signage, and more. You will be expected to create timelines, set meetings, and balance your workload effectively. Additionally, you will modify and revise existing designs to meet departmental needs and improve design quality. Staying current with design trends and best practices will be essential to ensure that your designs remain innovative and effective. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in graphic design or a related field, or equivalent experience. While experience in a corporate graphic design role is preferred, we welcome entry-level candidates with a strong design portfolio. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud Suite and Microsoft Office Suite is required, along with a keen eye for aesthetics and detail. Strong organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and excellent communication and collaboration skills are also essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Create original and templated designs using Adobe Cloud Suite within an established brand aesthetic.
  • Develop concepts and designs for print and digital media, including brochures, templates, logos, and event signage.
  • Set timelines and attend meetings to balance and prioritize workload effectively.
  • Modify and revise existing designs to meet department needs or improve quality.
  • Stay up-to-date on design trends and best practices to ensure innovative and effective designs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in graphic design or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Lightroom) and Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word).
  • Experience designing both print and digital media with a keen eye for aesthetics and detail.
  • Ability to take direction and work independently on deliverables as needed.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a corporate/internal graphic design role is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Cvent, PoliteMail, Monday, and Microsoft Teams.
