About the position

The Junior Instructional Designer at ICF is responsible for creating dynamic and engaging learning content with a focus on user-centered design, user experience (UX), and accessibility. This role involves collaborating with an instructional design team to develop various instructional materials, including classroom training, online courses, and performance support tools, while ensuring adherence to design standards and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of an instructional design team under the supervision of a Senior Learning Solutions Designer and/or Project Manager.
• Design, develop, and document instructor-led, paper-based, and responsive technology-delivered curricula and performance support solutions.
• Participate in the development and review of products for adherence to style and storyboard guidelines, writing standards, course/task flow, and designing for standards such as SCORM conformance and Section 508 compliance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
• 2 years of relevant work experience.
• 1 year of experience in Instructional Systems Design (ISD).

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's Degree in Instructional Design preferred.
• Experience in the full life cycle of the instructional systems design (ISD) process.
• Proficiency with word-processing, spreadsheet, and presentation tools (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
• Knowledge of Section 508 requirements as applied to course design and development.
• Experience with rapid development tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Presenter, Adobe Captivate).
• Experience with design production tools (Adobe Creative Suite).
• Familiarity with Communities of Practice and online collaboration tools.
