About the position

We are seeking an innovative, detail-oriented and creative team player to join our Learning and Development team as a full-time Junior Instructional Designer located in Provo, Utah. The Instructional Designer will work closely with Leadership in Learning and Development, Human Resources and Operations to create and maintain new interactive and engaging learning programs using sound instructional theory. As part of the Learning and Development team, they will be passionate concerning the initiative to make Aptive a learning-centric organization and bring fresh perspectives and concepts to the table. The individual we are looking for is someone that enjoys working in a team environment and also excels at working at an individual level and actively seeks feedback and collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to design scopes to create both digital and print assets
  • Generate original ideas and graphic/visual design concepts to support learning and training outcomes
  • Collaborate with instructional designers and content writers to develop and communicate complex ideas through sound visualizations
  • Design visual experiences that are clear and intuitive and rhetorically sound for the particular target audiences
  • Define, design, create, and implement innovative solutions to training needs in collaboration with L&D team members, subject matter experts, and stakeholders

Requirements

  • 0-2 years of graphic/visual design experience
  • Strong Adobe CS skills: Illustrator and InDesign
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks and communicate progress
  • Learn and adapt quickly
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Strong visual/graphic design skills with experience in applications such as Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, Canva, Camtasia
  • Ability to write clear, engaging, and effective instructional text
  • Experience developing content and storyboards in Articulate 360 and Storyline 360
  • Knowledge of adult learning theories and instructional design models
  • Experience with learning management systems
  • Workday experience a plus
