About the position

The Junior Instructional Technology Specialist at Delaware County Community College (DCCC) plays a crucial role in enhancing the integration of technology in educational settings. Reporting to the Director of The Carter Center for Excellence, the specialist will support faculty and staff across all campus locations by providing training, developing instructional materials, and researching new technologies. The position emphasizes collaboration, innovation, and a commitment to student success, ensuring that educational practices align with DCCC's mission and vision.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan, develop, and deliver professional development events/trainings/workshops/seminars.
  • Maintain instructional materials and reference materials, including training manuals, job aids, and multimedia resources.
  • Offer trainings/workshops/seminars in various settings and provide one-on-one support.
  • Provide technology support for day-to-day activities involving hardware and software.
  • Research and identify new technologies and best practices for teaching and learning.
  • Create graphics, flyers, videos, and other multimedia deliverables for The Carter Center and The Professional Development Committee.
  • Support college initiatives and special projects through collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Provide support and training for new technology platforms in collaboration with Online Learning and the Office of Information Technology.
  • Apply principles of Universal Design for Learning to comply with ADA requirements.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to improve training effectiveness.
  • Participate in interactive, on-site meetings during normal business hours.
  • Ensure compliance with ADA and 508 standards in assistive technology and online education matters.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three years' experience with educational technology, instructional design, or computer science in a higher education environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in educational technology, information science, computer science, instructional design, or a related field, or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Master's degree preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in developing multimedia instructional materials.
  • Familiarity with Universal Design for Learning principles.
  • Knowledge of assistive technology and compliance standards.
